Effective October 2026
This site, timlorge.blog, is a personal website of Tim Lorge. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and what happens to it.
What I collect
When you use the contact form. If you send a message through the Contact page, I receive your name, email address, the subject you choose, and your message. The site stores this in its database and emails it to me so I can reply. I use it only to respond to you.
When you visit. This site doesn’t currently use a third-party analytics or tracking service. If that changes, I’ll update this policy.
Server logs. Like most websites, the server that hosts this site keeps standard logs, including IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
The site has no comments, visitor accounts, or a shop.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site may set cookies that it needs to work properly, and embedded content (see below) may set its own. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Embedded content from other sites
Films on this site are embedded from YouTube. Embedded videos behave as if you visited YouTube directly: Google may set cookies and collect data about your interaction with the video, under Google’s own privacy policy. Links and share buttons to other sites, such as Substack or social networks, are governed by those sites’ policies once you follow them.
Newsletters
My newsletters, TimLorge.com and Wine and Movies, are hosted on Substack. If you subscribe, Substack handles your email address under its own privacy policy.
Who sees your information
I don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. It is shared only with the services that run the site (web hosting, email delivery, and site backups) and only as needed for them to do their jobs. Site backups, which may include contact form messages, are stored securely off-site.
How long I keep it
I keep contact form messages for as long as they’re useful for our correspondence, and delete them periodically.
Your choices
You can ask me to see, correct, or delete any personal information I have about you. Use the Contact page, and I’ll take care of it.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 18, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the effective date above.
